Club Pony Pals News
Personal Cabins Almost Built

Dear Pony Pals

Hundreds of Pony Pals from around the world crowded into our virtual barn on Friday to enjoy our virtual sleepover.  Sometimes Mrs. Crandal's virtual riding lessons got so busy that some pals and their ponies went outside to practice loading their virtual ponies into virtual trailers. In Pam's famous "20 Questions" game, a steady stream of visitors challenged each other’s horse and pony knowledge. Lulu and Anna chatted about every subject that members could imagine while they rested between lessons. After it was over, Mrs. and Dr. Crandal agreed it was like having a herd of wild ponies take over their barn.

In fact, all the Crandals have been hard at work during these winter months to get their barn ready to house lots of new ponies. The two "blank" doors on either side of members' pony stalls are about to get some new tenants behind them!

Olson's pony sale barn is closer than ever to being finished. Soon, members will be able to buy a second and even a third pony for a single account. One choice will be to trade in an existing pony for a new one or two new ponies. Premium colors like Dun and black/white overo will be available. Olson's will be a multi player space, so members will be able to arrange to meet there to go new pony shopping!

As a special pre Spring offer, when a member buys second or third ponies, they will be awarded their own personal cabin near Wiggins. Here is how our cabin's insides will look.

cabin interior

Our new cabins have lots of wall space to show off awards, honors, trophies, club badges, art and other displays of what honors a member has won here in virtual Wiggins. Trails miles ridden, contest winners and more new awards will all have special spots. And soon there will be many different kinds of furniture to buy for cabins too.

Next week, we'll show readers what our cabin outsides will look like.

In other news, all of our quests have been rebuilt. Now, there is a Pony Pal story woven into them. Hint: the fourth Pony Pal visits Wiggins. And after a member finishes all 25 updated quests, they will be hundreds of Wiggins bucks ahead.

Many, many thanks to all of our members who have written messages about America's free roaming horses and burros. Our collected remarks will be sent to President Barack Obama and Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar. Both of these high officials have the power to protect the freedom of our country's living, breathing four-hoofed heritage. Watch these pages to learn what response we get from our elected leaders.

Our story contest for February is now closed. We will have entries posted later this week. Voting starts Monday, March 8th.

We still would like to get more black and white line drawings for our CPP horse and pony alphabet coloring book. Our deadline has been extended, we will be adding entries as we get them. Our members have amazing artistic skills. When it is ready as CPP's first e-book, it the ABC's of Horses will be a great way to help kids worldwide learn their English ABC's and learn about horse and pony breeds at the same time.

It's still snowing in Wiggins but Spring can't be far away. Maple sugar tappers are visiting their sap buckets on Ms. Wiggins' estate. One family uses a sledge drawn by a team of black percherons! Which back issue of this paper has photos of them?

Make sure and download your Coloring Contest #11 entry form, entry deadline is March 12th.

Our new virtual riding lessons are each Tuesday, from 6:30 to 7:30 Eastern Time. Lessons are held in the live moderated chat. This is a great way to work on mentally visualizing your riding -- and they are lots of fun.

Every day hundreds of new members sign up and ask for Pal requests. Take a moment and see who's just signed on recently with our "Pals, Please Page." Our world has some great ways to meet other pals. Click here to learn more. Please help new members feel welcome - send a card to someone who is new!

Our game changes all the time, if you log in and weird things seem to happen, please clear your computer's cache.  See the instructions here to learn how.

Members ask me all the time "how do I earn more bucks?" Anybody who wants more Wiggins bucks is missing out if they don't enter one of our contests! Details are below. We need funny cartoons, they should be in black and white.
