The Adventure of the Hunter
It was the normal day for Britnie, Shadow, Angel, and Art (Artemis). They were ALWAYS having adventures! Today, they were going to the Wiggins Estate. "Let's go boy!" Britnie shouted to her Welsh cross pony. Shadow immediately put his rump down, and jumped off into a wild gallop. "Whoa!" Britnie shouted again. The pony eased into a canter. Angel and Art were now lost behind on the trail. Britnie slowed Shadow down to a trot, then walk, then finally, a complete stop. Soon, the two Chihuahua's, Art being part Chihuahua, caught up. "okay, let's go." Britnie said calmly. They were on one of the many, many Estate trails. "Pit-tow!" Shadow jumped to the side in surprise, almost stepping on Art."Iiiiii-ck!" The little dog hollered, even though she wasn't hit. Britnie knew the sound of that noise, it wasn't the b-b gun from Mike and Tommy, the trouble makers who always picked on the Pony Pals, but the sound of a 22. rifle. "oh you idiot!" Britnie scolded her brother, even though he was no where's near her. "ker-ker!" She made a voice that told Shadow to go. He started in a trot. "huuuuuuh........why did he have to pick up hunting???????? poor squirrels and rabbits........ " Britnie sighed. It was a terrible secret she was holding, she wanted to tell Mrs.Wiggins, the owner of the Estate, but how could she betray her own brother? She road on over trails and trails and even more trails, till finally, it was time to go back. "Go Angel! Go home!" Britnie turned Shadow around. The little Chihuahua swiftly took off down the trail to home. It was one of Britnie's tricks she had taught her, she was now trying to teach Art the trick too, and was doing pretty good. Angel was a good teacher for Art, and Art followed her most of the time. "huuuuhhhhhh..............I'm so confused." Sighed Britnie. Angel was starting to get ahead, so Britnie nudged Shadow into a trot. They were soon in the barn yard and Angel went find a sunny spot, of what sun was left. She dis-mounted Shadow and was leading him into the barn when she heard some bushes rustle. She spotted her brother sneaking back to their house. "huuuuuuhhhh...." Britnie sighed again. "Why didn't he take up riding horses!" She said outloud, but in a whisper. Britnie continued down the aisle until she reached Shadow's stall. She tied him in it, then untacked him. When she was done, she gave him a small apple and a few carrots. She then walked back to her house with her two dogs and fell asleep in her bed.

The next morning, Britnie decided on a decision. She ran over to Shadow with her two Chihuahua's and tacked him up. She then rode to the wiggins estate. She took the trail down to Mrs.Wiggins mansion. When she got to the mansion, Mrs.Wiggins was outside painting. "Hi Mrs.Wiggins!" Britnie called out. "Oh hi Britnie! What brings you here?" She asked. "well, it a little hard to tell you but..........my brother has been hunting on your land and" Britnie blurted out, but was then cut off by the woman. "He has? Doesn't he know I don't like anyone hunting on my land?" "Well, yes he does.....but he does it anyway, but you see...." Britnie hesitated. Mrs.Wiggins was listening carefully. "Go on." She said. "Okay, you see, his favorite activity is hunting and there's no better place to hunt then....well....here!" Britnie continued. "Yes, and I would like to keep it that way." The owner of the Estate said. "Well....I was wondering if you could maybe take a piece of your land that nobody goes to for my brother to hunt on? Cuz that would be nice and my brother would probably like that." Britnie asked. "That's an okay idea. I like how you think of others, and I do too. I respect other peoples favorite activity's, and I'll think about it." "oh thank you, thank you, thank you Mrs.Wiggins!" Britnie jumped out of her saddle and hugged the woman. "well your welcome!" She said. "I'm so happy, do you know how hard a decision it was to ask you that?" Britnie said. "I imagine it was." Mrs.Wiggins laughed. "Okay, now I just need your brother to come here." She said. Britnie then said thank you again and cantered Shadow to find her brother. She first went to her house and, luckily, found her brother there. "Come on *******! Come with me to Mrs.Wiggins place! She has something to tell you!" Britnie urged her brother on. "what does she want to tell me?" He said snobbishly. "I don't know, just come!" Britnie lied, she didn't want him to know that she had told Mrs.Wiggins that he hunted on her land. "Alright, I'm comin!" He said and slowly got up from the place he sat. "You should get Achilles to ride there, it's a little ways off I'm sure you know." Britnie suggested. "Yeah, I will." ******* said. Britnie ran outside and and remounted Shadow, then waited for her brother to come outside. They were soon walking and riding to the Crandal's barn, and Britnie's older brother started asking questions. "Why does she want me? Do you have any idea what she wants to tell me?" He asked. "No and no. I have absolutely no idea." Britnie lied again. "How did she even get to tell you to come tell me that?" He asked. "I was riding by." Britnie answered. "mm...." He replied, muffled. They kept quiet the whole way to the barn. When they got there, ******* grabbed a halter and went fetch Achilles. When the true golden palomino horse saw him, he did like Shadow and ran away. "He knows you are going to ride him! Let me go catch him because I never ride him!" Britnie yelled out. She met her brother at the fence gate and took the old halter. She hid the halter behind her back for a better chance of catching the horse. "Gotcha!" Britnie whispered when she caught the horse. She had a carrot in her pocket so gave it to him as a reward. ******* stayed at the gate and waited for her to come back with his horse. He took the lead rope and went to the barn, then dropped it and let Achilles eat the green, juicy grass. "I wish I could do that with Shadow...." Britnie said. Her pony always just ran away playing the "catch me if you can" game. "Ain't my fault you got a stubborn horse." ******* replied. He brushed Achilles a little bit then put the saddle on him. Britnie had Shadow in his stall tied up, she ran over and untied him and remounted. ******* was waiting outside. "Let's go!" He yelled out. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" Britnie replied, but ******* was already trotting off on his horse, he new the way already. "Good thing I already had Shadow warmed up before!" She said outloud, then nudged Shadow to a fast, bumpy trot. She soon caught up with her brother, but when he saw her, he urged Achilles to a canter. "Hurry up!" He yelled out. Shadow was thinking it was a race, and sped up to the horse. ******* stayed at a canter, and in a matter of minutes, they were in the yard of Mrs.Wiggins mansion. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Hi Mrs.wiggins." ******* said in a well-mannered voice. He always acted that way to adults OTHER than his parents. "Hello young man. I have understood from your sister that you have been hunting on my land." She began. ******* flashed Britnie an evil look, but she had hid herself on the other side of Shadow. "And your sister wanted you to have a private, and better place to hunt." Britnie looked over Shadow's back, and saw Mrs.Wiggins wink at her. "So I have found a place on my Estate where nobody goes that has many animals, including small and large game, plus water fowl. All I ask of you is to not put the population of the animals too far down, do not set up traps for just in case somebody goes to this place, and to make sure you know what you are shooting at before you shoot. If you agree, I'll tell you where the place is." "Thank you very much miss, and I'll gladly follow your rules. I'm very grateful to hunt on this place you are describing. The only thing is that I have already explored all your estate, and I have not seen a place like the one you are talking about." ******* replied. "Oh, that's because it's secret, and only I know of it. Here is a map of it for you so you know where it is, and do not share it with anyone." The lady handed Britnie's brother a rolled up map. "Thank you, very much, again." ******* said before walking over to Achilles and mounting him. "Have a good day, young man." Mrs.Wiggins said. "You too." ******* replied with a nod. Mrs.Wiggins turned away, and went back to painting a picture she was working on. ******* turned his horse around and let him walk on his own while he studied the map. Achilles already knew where he wanted to go and walked down the path to home. Britnie remounted her pony and walked him down the path to home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So, once again, the adventure has ended. Britnie's brother, *******, ended up having the greatest place he could imagine to hunt on. He followed the rules Mrs.Wiggins set and made sure there was still plenty of animals left in the woods. He NEVER said thank you to Britnie for getting him that place to hunt on, but Britnie wasn't expecting a thank you from him, for he was HER brother. What ignorant brother does?
