Dear Pony Pals A few technical things still need to be fixed. Then we ride. |

Dear Pony Pal Hannah You are totally welcome! Wiggins Weekly readers can still request free stickers and bookmarks with Wiggins Bucks on them. Our new trail riding experience is almost ready. We thought maybe this last week. But we found some things that still needed to be fixed for it to work right. As soon as our trail riding game is ready, it will go out to our testers, which now include you. WebMaster

Dear Pony Pal Lottie OK! You are on our list. We are so ready for our trail ride to be finished with data processing. It will have lots of jumps, curves, cool sound effects and other obstacles. We've never seen anything like it anywhere on the web-- that plays in a browser. Webmaster

Dear Pony Pal Lottie We think un-tacking and feeding should work too. Our code writer is working as fast as she can to make that happen ASAP. And she is fixing many other things as she goes as well. Thanks for your patience. Webmaster |

Dear Pony Pal Anna Grace At ClubPonyPals you can adopt as many ponies as you want. For each new pony, you need to open a new account. You can use the same email address for each pony. To help ClubPonyPals members during our "beta" startup stage, we are offering free stickers and bookmarks. There are Mrs. Pastures cookie in the bookmarks that will help members feed their ponies just like earning bucks by playing word & math games or grooming Daisy and Splash. Just send us an email request. Webmaster |

Dear Pony Pal W Thank you for sharing your suggestions. Our trail riding game is just about ready for testers. Would you like to test it when it is ready? We are working on a way for players to post messages to each other in a "forum" at ClubPonyPals. We are also looking at ways for players to see other ponies and players. Webmaster

Dear Pony Pal Cayce Thanks for writing. Having and caring for all ponies is part of what ClubPonyPals is all about. Fun, enjoyment, excitement...and responsibility. Live ponies and horses place their trust in humans. In exchange, humans owe their equine friends proper care and attention. You can help build your math skills in Pam's Game Loft. It has three math games -- Add Like Mad, Subtraction Action and Multiplication Station. Very soon, ClubPonyPals players will be able to earn Wiggins Bucks by playing these games. Then they will be able to stay out on trail longer -- where both ponies and riders will get tired and hungry...just like real life. Webmaster |

Dear Pony Pal Lauren Thanks for writing. Glad you like ClubPonyPals. It about to get a lot better. How great that Jayla and you can ride her horses. Twenty?! That's a lot of horses. Is Annie a roan? A paint? An Appaloosa? Louie the Sorrel sounds like he is "bald faced" or has a blaze. Your dad must remember Buck quite clearly. Sometimes I think we recall our horse and pony friends more strongly than our human ones. They are all special. What do you want to see in virtual Wiggins? What is it like where you live? With 20 horses, Jayla probably does not live in a city apartment! This week we have new signups from Poland, Spain, Brazil, South Africa, Greece, Belgium, Lithuania and Austria. There are a lot of ClubPonyPal members already in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Croatia, Moldava, China, Singapore, Japan, Mexico, Uruguay, Indonesia, Italy, Moldava, Sweden, Greece and other places. Dear Gabby: That sure is some schedule. Is there time for school anywhere in there? What is your favorite subject to study? It has been snowy all week in Wiggins. I get up early to help my mom feed. My dad is usually up pretty early too. He goes in first thing to check on the animal patients he has staying over at his clinic. Sometimes a small animal needs to stay for him to observe. Or they need to recover from a treatment while he watches how they are doing. Lightning knows when I am coming out. She whinnies at me, sort of "where's my breakfast?" JB, Daisy and Splash all join in, too. It's sort of a horse and pony chorus. I love the sound. It means everyone is ok, hungry and wants to eat. There are lots of whickers, whuckers and grunts while we measure out hay for them. If anyone's stall really needs a fast scoop out, mom or I will pick up a manure fork and clean a bit. Lightning and the horses are all too busy eating to notice. Sometimes I give Lightning a fast scratch on the shoulder. But for ponies and horses, meal time is special time. So I don't bother them. I will hug Lightning. The cookie won't last long once she knows it's on the way. Your friend,

Dear Megan ONLY on book #24? You sure have read a lot about us! Thats quit a few books to have read. What color is Justan? How cool to have a cousin who teaches riding. That's almost as good as having your own pony or horse. Do you get to help care for Ozzie, Wesley, Ziggy, Stulz, Lily, Firey, Juetan, Simi, Rascal the pony or Killian? My mom would like it if I were more interested in horse shows. I got sick at the first horse show I ever was in. But I just like to ride here and with Anna and Lulu. Getting a first is quite something. Congratulations. Yes, I have fallen off Lightning. And other ponies, too. I can't remember ever being bitten really hard by Acorn, Snow White or Lightning. That's serious. Ponies and horses defend themselves with their hooves and teeth. They can cause very bad injuries. Acorn, Lightning, Snowflake, Snow White all have had arguments with each other before. During these squabbles there have been some pretty serious pony nip-fests. If you think you are at risk of a horse or pony biting you, make sure you keep a safe distance. Are you around a pony or horse who you think is a biter? Write and let us know. Anna, Lulu, Webmaster, Jeanne Betancourt and I all love to get letters. I answered this one for everyone because writing is easy for me. Is it easy for you too? Basketball? I saw a photo of a game in Colorado called "cowboy polo" where people on horses used brooms to move around a basketball. Humans and horses all looked pretty pleased at the game. Thanks for writing, Pony Pals,

Dear Pony Pal Ellie Thanks for your letter. For sure you are a Pony Pal. It's not how big an equine stands that makes a difference. It is spirit. Not everyone is able to have their own horse or pony exactly when they would like to have it. I was lucky that my parents both are involved with horses and ponies. I am grateful. Is there a stable near where you live where you can take lessons? Can a parent help you get there? Sometimes a stable will allow young people to help out around a school barn with work and chores in exchange for lessons or riding privileges. Mom has not been giving as many lessons lately as she usually does. She says it is the winter weather but I think people may be spending less money. Anything you can do to increase your knowledge about horses and ponies will help you improve your time around them when you are at a barn or stable. Libraries and the internet are great for that. ClubPonyPals will have a new game soon that will test visitors on how much they know about horses and ponies. It will be called "Pony Word Scramble." It is huge. There are already a "Pony Word Search" and a "Pony Label Game" up in our barn's loft. Have you played those games? You can get Wiggins Bucks by earning high scores in my loft's games. Then you can use those bucks to buy virtual pony and human treats. Soon, players will be able to ride way out on trail. Then it will be good to have treats to keep up both pony and player energy levels. There will be lots of chances to jump and go fast.

Dear Pony Pal Cayce My dad was running out the door to help a sick horse over at Olson's. He said to take a look at: http://www.horsechannel.com/horse-health/equine-cushings-disease-24321.aspx Hope this helps. Give Cimarron a big hug for me. |

Dear Ellie Thank you for writing. What are you busy doing? For Christmas I got wool socks and a sweater. My mom and dad bought me a new saddle blanket and matching halter for Acorn. It is periwinkle blue. I really like it. |
|
Dear Pony Pal Sydney Acorn is good. I love him. He is fuzzy now. His mane and fur smell fresh. He always wants carrots. I clean snow out of his feet. I am so glad I have him. P.S. Dear Pony Pals This week I drew Lulu on Snow White. I will work on a drawing of me and Acorn next. Friends,

The Story so far.... The Pony Pals had just completed freeing a herd of wild mustangs. They were cleaning up the twine and string, putting it in their saddle bags when suddenly someone shouted "Stop!" They all turned and saw Lulu's father. Lulu was very angry with her Dad, she jumped on Snow White and galloped away. Summer, Meredith, Sunshine, Lulu’s Dad, Pam and Anna gave chase on their ponies and horses. Snow White got out safely, but horse thieves came and tried to steal all the other ponies and horses. Elie and Star stopped them and gave the ropes back to Lulu's dad. Lulu yelled up that she still needed help. Mr. Sanders laid down on the bank and started to feed a rope down to Lulu when suddenly he started to slide! The girls grabbed his shoes but one came off and ..... Lulu backed up but there wasn't much room as her dad slipped down the bank and splashed into the stream at the bottom. "Dad!" she yelled. "Are you OK?" Her father shook his head and sat up. Then he started laughing! "This reminds me of the time in Brazil when..." Summer F writes ...I was riding my horse, when suddenly, it jerked to a stop. I slipped and fell, into a baby pool!" Everyone started laughing. But Snow White stopped suddenly. "How can we get him back up?" Everyone started mummer. Eye-High suddenly spoke up. "I'm a wild pony,I have been walking though shallow, slippery cliffs before with my mommy. I know what to do." He took some of the rope in Eli's hand, and slowly, carefully, stared down the ditch. "Careful, Eye-High!" cried Squirrel. Pongo was so scared, he hid behind Lightning. Eye-High walked so slowly, the party could here the clanking of Eye-High hooves, clacking on the rocks. Tommy Rand saw Eye High getting close enough to lulu, she scrambled on his back. He saw Mr. Sanders on his back in the water, and Snow White laying down, starring at the brave pony. He sneered, and left a big bottle of slippery oil. Summer saw the oil, and tried to pick it up. But it slipped, and it was dripping on the rocks, right in front of Eye-High!!!! Eye-High saw the gold liquid dropping in his way. But then...Lulu felt Eye-High's muscles gather up at the rear, Eye-High picked up his pace. Everyone Held their breath. Then, Eye-High... What happens next? Let us know. Pony Pal Thoughts for the Day I will never ever have an empty stable and I have accepted that fact. Losing a pony can break your heart, but it will have been worth it. Bringing along a good pony is a marathon, not a sprint. |
