Spot Is Very Sick

Julie Malsta was walking to riding lessons. She couldn’t wait to ride Spot, her pony. He was boarding at the barn. She saw the red barn and ran.  She went to Spot’s stall. 
Miss Lu came up to her and said, “Your pony might die, Julie.”
“What?” said Julie.
“He is very sick, Julie, you can’t ride him today,” Miss Lu said.
Julie ran out of the barn.  She sobbed hard all the way home.

Julie was packing a shoebox for Spot.  She put in oats, 2 carrots, 1 apple, and 2 pills. 
Julie cried, “Poor, poor pony.”
She ran to the barn.  She went in the stall.
“Hi Spot,” she said.  He was standing in a corner.  She handed him an apple.  He happily munched the apple.  She gave him hay.
“Spot, “ she said, “ What is that bump?”
He had a lump on his leg.  Miss Lu walked in. She said, “That is a spider bite.” 
She put cream on the bump and said, “that should make you better.”
Julie hugged Spot’s neck. 
She said, “Spot, you are better.”
