Jonah’s new saddle by jonah12 & jonah age 12  

One day a girl named Makayla was tacking up her horse Jonah in the main barn. they were on their way to down town wiggins. Makayla couldn’t wait to get the new western saddle she has been saving up for. Then she put on Jonah’s bridle and lead him to the mounting block and mounted him. She signaled him to walk down the pony pal trail. She and Jonah loved the pony pal trail because all the nature it had! They came to Badd Brook and stoped. Makayla dismounted and let Jonah have a drink. She took out an apple that she had picked from a tree , sat under a maple tree and ate it. She watched a squirrel jump from branch to branch. She listened to the birds sing. It was beautiful! See looked at Jonah who was eating some grass now. His beautiful black coat glistened in the sun light. “He is a gorgeous horse.” She thought to herself. 5 minutes later she mounted Jonah and signaled him to walk through the river. He obeyed. Then they cantered to the town. When they reached the town. She dismounted Jonah and tied him to a hitching post. Then she walked into Mrs. Shimmer’s shop. She was great friends with Mrs. Shimmers. she picked up the saddle and tried it on Jonah. It kept sliding down Jonah’s back. It didn’t fit! Makayla was so upset and disappointed. But then she had an Idea. She lead Jonah to kline’s tack and feed shop. Makayla walked in and found a beautiful western saddle! She tried it on Jonah and it fit! She walked up to the counter and bought it for only 1250 dollars! The one at Mrs. Shimmers was 2000 dollars! Wow that was a huge difference. She had enough money to buy the western bridle that was 250 dollars. She bought that too. She tacked Jonah up and sold the old tack for 1250 dollars all together. She had a lot of money left over! She mounted Jonah. She had finally got a western saddle for Jonah. Then she felt hungry so she trotted to the off- main diner. The saddle felt magical on Jonah. Jonah neighed in approval. When they reached off- main diner she dismounted Jonah and tied him next to a white, chestnut, and brown pony. She walked inside and sat next to three girls. “ hi I’m Makayla” she said. “hi” they said in unison and started up a conversation with Makayla. They told makayla that the blond hair girl was Anna, the black hair girl was lulu, and the brown hair girl was pam. They told them about their ponies outside. Their names were Lightning, Acorn, and Snow White. Makayla told them about Jonah and their adventure. Then they asked Makayla To join their club called the pony pals. Makayla agreed. Then they all orderd peanut butter and jelly sand wiches and orange juice and for desert they had brownies and  milk.  The sat in the pony pal booth and ate. They were all best friends by the end of the day. Then when they were finished they untied their ponies and went home. Makayla said good bye and went on another trail to home. She thought about how great the day went. When she arrived at the barn she untacked Jonah and gave him his bucket of hay for dinner. Makayla gave him a kiss and said good night and walked next door to home and fell asleep.
