Horse Surprise

Once upon a time, there was a young girl named, Maya. She was a natural rider and a horse lover. Maya was 15 years old and soon to be turning 16 years old. More then ever Maya wanted her very own horse that she can care for and ride. Ever since she was 5 years old and fell in love with horses, she would always wish on her birthday for the perfect horse. But, she never got that perfect horse on her pervious birthdays; all she got was stuffed animals, saddle blankets, a new saddle, riding boots, and even new riding clothes. Those things did make her happy at that time but now that she is getting a year older she wants more then ever that perfect horse she has been waiting for. But unfortunately her family wasn’t the richest; they didn’t have enough money to buy the perfect horse that Maya dreamed of. Maya never owned her own horse or pony she always rode school horses and ponies.

On a Monday, Maya went to her riding school and was in the barn tiding thins up until Lisa, a rich girl came in.
“Maya after you are done cleaning the barn you can start on Midnight’s stall”, said Lisa.
Maya gives Lisa a glare.
“I’m paying you, and this might get you a bit closer to your horse”, giggled Lisa.
“Fine then”, says Maya.
After a very long day of mucking out stalls and grooming horses, Maya was tired and didn’t make much, but she was one step closer.
After 5 days of working hard and her birthday tomorrow she didn’t make much money. Maya was really sad that this year she isn’t going to be able to get the horse she wanted and that she is going have to wait until next year.

On the morning of her birthday she was 16 years old and she knew that the day was going to be a rotten day since her dream wasn’t going to come true. So she got out of bed and got dressed and then was on her way to the barn. When she walked to the front of the barn she noticed the doors where not opened, so she decided to go to the back door and when she opened the door she was in for a big SURPRISE! When Maya opened the door, there stood her friends and family with the most beautiful horse she had ever seen.

On that horse was big red bow that read, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAYA!”

Maya dropped everything and walked towards her new horse, which was a black Arabian. Maya then decided to name her new horse Scarlet. From that day on Scarlet and Maya were best of friends.
