My First Lesson By Lpetz23
I was 6 years old when I went to my first lesson. I wasn't tall enough for a pony or a horse yet so I rode a dun Shetland pony named Durango. He was such a sweet heart!
I went to have my 4th or 5th lesson, Durango wasn't in his stall. I asked my trainer where he was and my trainer told me he was in the pasture with all the other ponies like SeaBiscuit. I was little, so I didn't understand, so my mom had to tell me. She told me that he was gone and he wasn't coming back. I told myself I would never ride again.
But that changed quickly, a horse trailer pulled up to the front of the stables and a man got out of the truck pulling the trailer and he lowered down the ramp. There, three little hindquarters were there! The man lead the horses down the trailer, one by one. There was a palomino pony, a black pony, and a bay SHETLAND PONY!!!
I instantly adored them all, but the palomino one caught my eye. My trainer told me it was my choice to pick the pony I wanted to ride. I said all of them. My trainer looked confused, so I told him my plan.
I would ride the palomino one, then the bay one next lesson, then the black one the next lesson. He thought that was a very clever idea, so we went through with it.
In loving memory of: Durango, Bobby, Daisy and Thunder.
