The River Ranch Rider's Club Story #1:
Skit's Dilemma
by skittles
Age 11

"Hey Skit," said PP95 as he was walking his pony out of the barn. When the 9-yr-old boy saw the anxious look on his sister's face, he knew something was wrong.
"What's wrong?"
She sighed. "Well, I can't find Hoku's saddle. We were going to try some barrel racing today, and I can't do it without my good Western saddle!" The 11-yr-old girl was definitely troubled. PP95 could see that.
"I'll help you look for it." He said.
The kind words made a smile light up Skit's face. "Thanks. The last time I had it, it was in the tack room."
"OK."
The two siblings searched the tack room. They looked on the saddle racks, the table, and the closet, but they still couldn't find Skit's saddle.
Next, they tried the corral. No saddle. Outside the barn. STILL no saddle.
Finally, Skit was about to give up hope. "I guess we just won't do barrel racing today."
PP95 tried to think of something to make his sis feel better, but he couldn't. He stayed silent. He walked back into the barn, and he passed the empty stall.
'Wait a sec', he thought. 'what's that?'. He walked back to the empty stall. Laying on the top bar of the stall was a Western saddle!
"Skit!" PP95 called. "I found it!"
Skit came in, with a beaming smile on her face. "Thank you so much PP95! Now we can go barrel racing!" She shot him an appreciative smile, then headed off with the saddle towards Hoku.
PP95 smiled to himself. 'Mission Complete!'
