Dominator

I heard a knock at the front door.  My dad answered it.  My next-door neighbor was here. 
“Is Vada home?” She asked. 
“Yes, she is.  Let me go get her.” my dad said.  Then he walked into my room to get me.  I was reading a book.  He opened the door and said,
“Knock-knock.” I looked up and smiled.
“Cindy wants to see you.”  He told me. 
“Okay.”  I said.  I put down the book, stood up and walked into the entryway.  “Hi.” I said as I waved.
“Hello,” Cindy smiled.  She turned to my dad.  “Can I take her over to my
house?  I have a birthday present for her.” 
My dad thought for a moment and said, “Sure.  Vada, make sure you stay with Cindy, okay?” 
“Yes sir.”  I said.  Cindy and me walked to her barn. 
“So how old are you now?” She questioned. 
“Ten.”  I answered. 
“Wow.  Double-digits.”  Cindy said back.
“Yeah.”  I told her.  We walked into her barn and stopped in front of a stall. 
“Why are we here?”  I asked.  And Cindy answered,
“This is where your birthday present is.” 
“Oh.”  I said in shock. “This is a weird place for a birthday present.” 
“Not if it¹s a big birthday present that can¹t come in a house.”  Cindy said back.  She opened the stall door and walked in.
“Come on.” She said encouragingly.  I walked in and stood beside her.
Cindy made a clicking sound with her tongue.  A big bay horse trotted
through the door.  I stood there, amazed and shocked. 

“Well?” Cindy said.
I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out.  I just stood there.  The
horse stopped right in front of me and lipped my hair.  I laughed and rubbed
his cheek. 
“Do you like him?” Cindy asked. 
“Of course, I do!” I said, laughing. 
“I¹m glad.  Do you know how to tack up and groom?”  Cindy asked.
I stopped laughing and said, “No, can you show me?” 

Cindy nodded and got a grooming kit. She brought it over to a hitching post and set it down.  She walked back over to me and said, “Follow me.”  we walked to the hitching post with the horse following behind. 
“So what are you gonna name him?”  I thought for a minute and said,
“Dominator.  I like that name.”  Cindy said back,
“I like that name too.”  Dominator nodded and neighed. 
“I guess he likes that name too.” I said while laughing. Just then Vada¹s friends
Rachel, Aaron, and Jessica jumped up and said at the same time, “SURPRISE!”
Vada was surprised all right.  They had planned a surprise birthday party
for her.  They had all helped pick out Dominator.
