Blue

Blue. That was his name; his coat was an odd rippled grayish blue that would shine in the summer light. He was a stallion, young and powerful but he is known best by saving lives.

“ Taylor what should we name him?” I looked admiralty at his smooth, sleek grayish blue coat and said in one monotone voice.
“Blue”.
“Well that settles it then,” said my father stretching his arms way above his head as he walked into our large two story house. I was not quick to follow, for I stayed in that barn till dawn. The black mare, cherry chill, was eating her food while the foolish little foal nibbled him tail. He flopped down on the ground and went into a peaceful looking sleep.
Two years later the foal became mine and we rode all over our 300-acre land. Then one day, as we were out riding on the sandy trail, when I fell and rolled into the large pond. I found my self sinking under the heavy riding gear. I gurgled when I saw blue racing franticly back and forth. Then he dove in. he swam toward me his long powerful legs moving in a smooth motion. He pushed me with his muzzle toward the surface were I hit a rock and blanked out.

When I woke up I saw my mom sitting in a hard plastic chair in a white room.
“Mom?” I asked. She jerked awake.
“Yes dear?” she said in a very odd voice.
“Were am I?” I asked but I already knew I was at the hospital. She did not answer she just came to me and held my hand as I fell asleep again.
When I woke up again I was in my own room, light seeped in through the windows. I sat up and hurriedly dressed. My head ached but I ran down the stairway anyhow. Mom and dad had left a note that said-
At the grocery store be back soon- love Mom and Dad
So quickly I ate and ran outside I saw Blue grazing in the paddock happily and I knew everything was alright as I walked out in to the blazing sun.
