Chapter 1
Fiona lived in a big crowded city, in a small apartment. She was on the computer, she has been on for hours. Her eyes were aching. It was almost 11:00 on a school night. She had to do a stupid report for school on horses.
"Why did Mr. Roberts give it to me about stupid horses, they so dirty and......" Fiona knew she was afraid of horses, but she never admitted it to anyone. Fiona had no idea what she was going to write about. That night Fiona had a nightmare. Of a horse. A HUGE horse. It was a galloping horse coming right at her. She screamed. Her eyes flew open. Her mum rushed in her room.
“What is wrong darling?”
"Ahh . Just..just a nightmare."
“How about I get you some hot chocolate?”
“Sure”
Fiona and her mum sat there sipping hot chocolate. “Ummm.. Fiona, can I talk to you?” said mum.
“Sure”
“Well, me and your father have been having some trouble getting money. So, he found a better job in a small town.”
“WHAT!!!!!!! I HAVE TO LEAVE EVERYTHING BEHIND AND BE A FARM PERSON. NOOO!”
Chapter 2
Fiona put her head down.
“Fiona dear” said mum. Fiona burst in tears.
“W-w-when ar-r-re we l-leaving?” She asked.
“In a month..”
“DARN! I still have to do that stupid report and it’s due tomorrow!!”
“ I’ll help you”
Fiona wrote a lot of things. Horses are foals until they are 4 years of age and more. She learned a lot but still hated them. Before she knew it, a month had passed and she packed all of her things. She got an “A” on her report, but that didn’t make her feel any better.

The moving truck was there. She rode away in her car. She watched her house disappear. When they got there, Fiona saw that the house they were living in was very small. It was as big as their apartment. She started unpacking her things.
Chapter 3
Fiona was driving to her new school. She saw that there was a farm with a bunch of beautiful horses. At school she met a really nice girl named Katy. On her way back from school, she stopped by the farm.
She learned that the owner’s name was Mr. Robinson. He was very nice.
He said, “Do you want to meet my horses? I know you are new in town.”
She didn’t want to be rude, so she said “Sure.”
There was a brown and white paint horse named Copper. He had a star on his forehead.
“Come on.” said Mr. Robinson, “You can pet him if you like."
Fiona walked up and stroked Copper. He felt nice and soft. Copper nudged Fiona a little. She jumped a little. “It is OK, he is just giving a little love to you. Now do you want to meet our pony named Bubbles?”
Bubbles was fuzzy. The farm also had cute, little kittens. “I have to go home”, said Fiona. “OK”, said Mr. Robinson, “I’ll see you later.” Fiona told her mum what she saw. She was starting to feel a little less scared.
Fiona’s mum said “You know, you can take horse lessons with Mr. Robinson if you want. I’ll have to ask him later.”
*****
“Fiona, Mr. Robinson said could take some lessons with him, next week” said mum.
“OK” I’ll try them.
Chapter 4
Fiona was walking to the barn for the horse lesson. She was a little nervous. What if he thinks I’m bad around horses? She thought. Mr. Robinson asked her if she knew how to groom a pony. Fiona learned how to while she was doing that horse report.
“Yes yes I do.” “Good. You’re going to ride Bubbles today, but he is a little lazy!” Fiona groomed him, but Mr. Robinson helped her on picking Bubbles feet. Mr. Robinson showed her how to tack her up and put the bridle on. Fiona led Bubbles to the indoor ring. Fiona learned that she has to keep her heels down and sit tall in the saddle.
Mr. Robinson said, “There is this girl named Katy that leases a pony named Zoa. Zoa belongs to my farm”
Fiona said, “Oh, I know that girl!”
Chapter 5
Ummm, 5+7=12. DINNNNNG!!!
“Time to go girls and boy, it is a Friday, no homework!” shouted Mrs. Kinner.
“Hey you want to come to my house?” Katy asked Fiona.
“Umm. I guess so.”
“My mum owns the restaurant on West Street, she will bring brownies!” Fiona smiled. She loved Katy’s mum’s brownies.
“I have a pony named Zoa, and my mum has a horse named Rodger, you to ride?”
“Sure!” Katy had a barn, but with only two horses. From then on, Fiona and Katy where best pals.
