Chapter One

As I sat there I thought about all that had happened over the week. First the last day of school, then a simple choice of what to have for dinner turned into a “why did I marry you” fight between mom & dad, then I see my parents fighting in front of a judge and soon I’m here sitting in my mom’s SUV staring out the window.
“You ok sweetie?
“I’m fine mom.”
I looked at her but then turned my attention back to the window; I really hated looking at her not because she was ugly because she’s really pretty but because I look nothing like her. She has long straight blonde hair while I have medium black/brown curly hair. She has a pale face with a few red spots and I have a ginger face with dry lips and some blue make-up. She has a warm smile but I have a smile that’s really not a smile you would call warm. There is one thing that makes me smile like a little child on Christmas morning its horses. Oh how I loved horses I read everything I can about them and I used to do riding lessons.
But soon I can watch horses all day long for are new house has a stable about a mile away! My mom said that I wouldn’t have to go to that stable.
“Well then where will I go?” I asked, but all that she said was “You‘ll see.”
You’ll see, you’ll see what does that even mean? Oh well. I guess I’ll see. But to my and my mother’s surprise I let out a high shriek!
“Ha ha hmm, sorry.”
                                                                     ***
I rushed up to my new house. I felt like running round it 100 times to see every single detail I did see a few things on my 2 times round like there are 15 windows, a big deck, 4 levels(!) and a big front door. As my mother walked to the front door I ran up to her. She was fiddling with the key when I got there. Slightly out of breath I said
“This place is huge!”
“And it’s in California.”
“I now that but is like a mansion! And there’s a big pasture and a…a…a stable! Really a stable!”
“Yes it came with the house.”
She said as she gave up on opening the door all together.
“Here,” I said while taking the key form her hand and with one “click” the door was open and she stepped into the house.
“Now I know you’ll want to see your room right away, it’s on the top level well really I should say it is the top level! There is a present on your bed but it might…”
But before she finished I rushed upstairs to my new room but when I got there it was my new level!
I saw a first room that had no bed but instead a desk and a brand new set of pens and paper, this was for the drawing I did, also sitting on the desk was a book about riding and horse care. I then saw a door that said “Lilly Gold’s room” for that was my name. It was written in fancy curly letters. I push it open and stood in a world of white & blue. The walls were white and a window where blue curtains hung I looked out to find the most beautiful view of the stables and bight emerald fields where three horses stood grazing! I then look more around the room to find a TV, a computer & laptop and then a nice blue bathroom. As I searched the bathroom for my pet fish Jewel and found her sitting in a huge tank next to my bathtub when something yelped then it whined the next sound I heard was the sound of nails clicking on the hard wood floor.

                                                                    ***
A Large, fluffy and kind of adorable beagle puppy stood watching me with one brown eye and one blue eye! I couldn’t move as me and him went into some kind of staring contest I won as he blink his huge eyes and came galloping towards me and knock me down on the floor licking my face like it was made of ice cream.
“Hey, stop!” At that the puppy stopped and looked at me again with those big eyes.
“Oh, ok” I said not being able to say know and he began to lick my face again. After about 100 years in my world of face licking the puppy stopped and trotted out of the room I followed. He showed me his own bed and toys as he began to play with one of them it was a funny thing with hoops on the end that he chew on. I knew that he would need a name.
“Well aren’t you a mystery first you go….” But I didn’t finish for it hit me right in the head.
“Mystery I like that.” I turn to the pup
“What do you think of Mystery.” The puppy turn away from it’s toy and pricked up its ears and came to me. “I guess I’ll call you Mystery, and how about Clue for short?” Clue barked at his new name.

Chapter Two

As me and Clue raced down the stairs I couldn’t help to notice Clue as he passes me. His mainly brown bodies shining while the two coal black spots on his back are dark. His has four white stocking on his paws and a white belly that travels up to his muzzle where his shining wet nose sits twitching at every new scent he passes.

As we reach the kitchen where my mom is trying to figure out a recipe for lasagna-my favorite food in the whole wide world- Clue begins to sniff around looking for something to chew on. “Hey mom! Do we have any bones and dog food for Clue?” I ask as I open every cabinet I came to.
“Hello dear, Food for Whom?”
“Food for Clue my beagle remember?”
“Ah yes we have some puppy chow in the garage.”
My mom said looking down at her at her sorry excuse of lasagna. When I reach the garage I told Clue while looking at the massive piece of house.
“You can hardly call it a garage now can you?” Clue bark in response and caught a whiff of puppy food and began to find his well deserved food by first planting his nose on the cold cement floor then by making loud sniffing noises and soon he stopped right in his tracks and pointed his paw at a bag of dog food. I laughed at the sight of my little puppy acting like a big hunting dog. I pick up the bag and was surprised at the weight of the bag and dragged it into the kitchen next to a bowl on the floor.
“You could have used that cup to use to bring his serving in.” My mom said while pointing to a cup that sat next to his bowl.
“Now you tell me!” I said while giving Clue his food.

Whiled I waited for Clue to finish I sat down on the chair and had my own lunch. It wasn’t too bad for my mom’s cooking.
“Go outside and take Clue for a walk.” My mom said as she was writing something for the newspaper job she wanted. So I took a leash that hug by a hook by the door and attached it to Clue’s light sapphire collar. As soon as I open the light brown door Clue galloped passed me like a racehorse and dragged me across the yard and following his nose down to the stable. When I look at the wide and chocolate colored building I felt like this was horsey heaven for the stable had a big pasture next to it with three horses and a foal! The foal was a beautiful bay thoroughbred my mom later told me she got at the track. I saw that she had left a note that read:

                  Dear Lilly,
This filly is yours to train and keep. Name it whatever you please. I have asked someone to come and help you. She will come in a week’s time. Have fun!
                                                                                   Love Mom

I couldn’t believe it, my own foal. “Well she will need a name…..hmmm.” I looked at Clue. “How about Autumn? That’s a wonderful name don’t you think?” Clue bark as if to say “Yes it is!”  “We’ll call her Autumn.” And I patted my new foal and thought what type of horse should she be? I know there are lots of different things a horse can do like jump and race. I decided on a western horse to ride about on the fields.

  Chapter three

After a week had gone by I woke up feeling very happy. I found Clue curled up into a ball on his nice soft bed fast asleep. I got up and had a long warm shower. I got dressed-knowing that I would do allot of work that day-in my favorite pair of jeans, a T-shirt with the words Hi my name Hi what’s yours?  A pair of soft leathery brown boots which came from my mother’s Sister Kylie who used to ride horses in rodeos but now breeds and trains them. I woke up Clue and he stood and did some doggie yoga. He collected a series of toys that he wanted to play with.
“Not right now Clue we have to meet the trainer.” Clue look at me like I was crazy
“No time to play, she’s MAD!”  I heard my mom calling me so me and Clue giving up on making me play with him followed me downstairs.
“Hey mom, wazz up?” That’s when I said a girl standing with my mother.
“Oh, hello.” She looked at me and smiled.
“Howdy Hi.”
“Huh” I looked down at my shirt and we both laughed. My mom told me she was the trainer and she lives just a mile down the road. Her father was a trainer too but he died in a car crash but she was only 3 when it happened. She was happy to see the young foal playing happily with Clue.
“That’s really good it means she is very social and will do good with other animals. What’s her name?” She asked looking at the filly prance with Clue.
“Autumn, her name is Autumn.”
 “Pretty name.”
I took a long look at the girl. Her name was Claire. She was 11 like me but she had a tan face from being in the sun and long braided golden hair and short bangs while I have long one that covers my eyes. She had a leather braided bracelet round her wrist and a matching necklace. We started to train my filly by first seeing if see like the halter. She did she lick it and took it from our hands and pranced about with it. We got her to put it on and soon we were leading the filly into the stables and began to groom her. She seemed to love it and soon figured out that if she got dirty we would groom her again. So everyday I would walk out to the stables to find her rolling round on a puddle of mud. I would groom her till her coat shined then I would wait for Claire.

Today we were going to introduced her to the saddle; she took well to the bridle last week. Claire show me that you have to just let them see it and smell it for you have to wait till they are 3-4 years old to break them in. Autumn now has smelled everything in the stables so she is ready to see the world. We were going to pony her. Claire rode her horse Starburst and I rode an old gelding named Checkers. Starburst was a Quarter horse with a star shaped spot on his black bottom. Checkers was a mustang that had a Black blaze (Weird!) on his face and a grey coat. Claire took Autumn and we walk all around the farm stopping to let Autumn sniff a log or plant. Clue had come along and was having the time of his life. First he had gone swimming in a small pond full of frogs by my house and now he was ‘leading’ the pack. Clue let out a big “HOOWWLLLL” as he watched a small rabbit go hopping into a hole. “Clue let that rabbit be! I think you freighted it to deaf with that howl.” Clue looked at me with those puppy dog eyes like saying “Did I do something wrong?”

            Chapter Four
I was surrounded by small white flowers, near by there was a crystal lake. I was lying in a bed of bigger blue flowers. I heard hoof beats and a gorgeous pinto colt with white and chestnut patches stood staring at me with his blue eyes. “SnowFire” I called but He cantered away leaving me with only a memory of his eyes, his bottomless sapphire eyes.

                                                                      ***
I found myself lying on the floor of my room waken by Clue’s tough. I remember that I was in my room not in a field of flowers. I dressed and went downstairs for my breakfast of hot eggs and bacon same as Clue. I came outside for Autumn’s party. Autumn was 2 years old now and she was 14.5 hands already. She was having fun in the pasture as me and Claire -now becoming good friends- were having our lunch when it happened. When I saw him for the very first time. At first I thought it was shadow but then it became a white and chestnut shadow. I got up while Claire watched Autumn. I walked towards it and it came out a small 6 month old colt.
“Claire look at this” I said as walking close to the foal. He saw me and began instead of running away he walked towards me looking majestic with his bottomless sapphire eyes.
