Hollow Tree Stables #2-- Hailey And Hannah (read part one here)

Hailey walked to the tack room. She was going to check the riding assignments. She almost knew what horse she was assigned. She usually rode Coco or Doc. She found her name on the bulletin board. But the horse after her name was Hannah!

Lizzy walked up." Hey what's going on." Lizzy asked. Then she looked up. She saw who Hailey was riding. "Hannah's a good horse. " said Lizzy.

Easy for her to say thought Hailey. Everybody at Hollow Tree Stables knew that Lizzy's favorite horse was Hannah.

"Who are you riding?" asked Hailey

"Mitsy" replied Lizzy.

"What barn is she in?" asked Hailey.

"Barn B" aswered Lizzy as she got Mitsy's tack.

Hollow Tree had two barns. Barn A was mostly lesson horses and ponies. Barn B was mostly borders with a few lesson horses. Hannah was in Barn A.

" Hannah's tack is by Megan's office." Lizzy called while she walked out of the tack room.  Hailey walked to the end of the rows of tack. Then she found the tack with a brass name plate that said Hannah on it.

Suddenly Megan walked out of her office. "I see you found Hannah's tack." commented Megan.

"Yea" replied Hailey. Hailey walked to Hannah's stall. After tacking her up, Hailey led Hannah out to the ring. When she got there she started to work on her flying lead changes.

Vanessa Harris rode into the ring on Coco.

"What are you doing?" Vanessa asked.

"Practicing in till Megan gets here." replied Hailey.

" I'm saving Coco's energy." said Vanessa.

Then Lizzy led Mitsy into the ring. She was followed by Ella Wendon and Starlit. Hailey looked at Mitsy. The mare was the color a shiny new penny. Starlit was pretty too. Starlit was coal black with a white blaze. A few minutes later Megan rode into the ring riding her dapple grey mare, Crystal.

"Why are you riding Crystal?" asked Ella.

" Because we are working on something where I will need to show you what to do." replied Megan. After they warmed up, Megan set up some jumps. Hailey had never jumped Hannah and was really nervous.

"Lizzy you go first." said Megan. Lizzy took Mitsy around the course. They had one fault. Next was Vanessa. She rode a clear round.

"That's how you jump." smirked Vanessa. Lizzy ignored her.

" Can I go now?" asked Ella.

"Sure" answered Megan. But Ella and Starlit didn't click. They had three faults.

Now it was Hailey's turn. Hailey pushed Hannah into a canter. They had a clear round!

"Now I will tell who you will ride in the show. Vanessa you will ride Coco, Lizzy will ride Doc, Ella will ride Mitsy, and Hailey is riding Hannah." Megan told the class.

Everyday Hailey practiced jumping Hannah. Then it was the day of the show.

When it was Hailey's class she was really nervous.

"Just pretend you're having a private lesson with Megan." Lizzy told her.  Lizzy had placed fifth in her class.

"You can do it!" yelled Lizzy as Hailey cantered into the ring. Hailey blocked out all of her thoughts and only thought about her, Hannah, and the jumps in front of them. After they jumped their last jump, Hailey listened for her score. When she heard her score she couldn't believe it! She had gone clear! She was the only one to go clear. Hailey had won!

"Thank you Hannah." whispered Hailey.
