Breeze
By RememberSeptember11th &Another Chance age 16

''Dinner's ready!'' Mom called from the kitchen. I raced downstairs. I wanted to ask my mom a question that I have been asking for years. ''Mom can I get a horse? Please!? I found this horse on the internet and....!'' I blurted out. ''Well'', Mom replied. ''Your dad and I were thinking that you deserve a horse... After dinner, let's look at the horse you saw and see if we can afford it.'' I couldn't believe it. I was getting a HORSE! My lifelong dream!

After dinner was done, I ran upstairs. I pictured the horse I wanted, Breeze, galloping across the acre of lot behind our house. My mom came up what seemed like forever, and I pointed to her. ''Isn't she beautiful?'' I sighed. ''Yes she is,'' Mom said. ''Let's see how much Breeze is'' She scanned the webpage, and found the price and information. It read:

Name: Breeze

''We can pay for it'' Mom announced. I screamed and hugged my mom. ''Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you!!'' ''I'll call the owners and tell them we'll come over tomorrow and get her stuff and Breeze herself.'' I hopped into bed that night, thinking about the mare as I fell asleep.

I woke up feeling special. Then I remembered, today I was getting Breeze! I got dressed and went down the stairs to find my mom making breakfast and our rented trailer out in the front. ''So when are we going?'' I asked enthusiastically. Mom replied, ''As soon as you eat we will.'' I gobbled down my breakfast, jumped out of my seat, and raced to the car. Mom came a couple of minutes later. ''Come on!'' I said anxiously. ''Ok, ok, I'm here.'' Mom replied wearily. It only took 20 minutes, but I seemed like 10 years.

We approached the farm (finally) and saw Breeze awaiting us in the pasture. A lady stepped out, apparently the owner. She shook hands with my mom, and said, '' Hello. My name is Mrs. Olinski. Here is your new horse and her things.'' My mom paid the check and I grabbed as much as I could I put it in the trailer. Then I ran back with Breeze's lead rope and halter and put it around her head. ''Thank you, Mrs. Olinski!'' I yelled at her as we drove away with my new horse.
