A story of friendship, a girl and her horse
by VictoryStar & Magic age 10
This is a story about a horse and a girl.It is not a true story, but a story that I will donate to Magic the horse, and me.
I bounced up and down in the truck seat as Dad drove down the road.
"Where ARE we going?!" I asked impatiently.
"It's a suprise." He said with a smile.
I sighed, 'I guess I'll find out soon enough.' I thought.
We soon pulled into a long drive way, it had a barn with three little corrals coming out of the stalls.
There was a house, and many meadows.A riding ring, and up another small hill a bigger barn sat on top the hill.I looked around, bewildered with amazement.
"Holy horses..." I said.
My dad chuckled, "We're here."
I jumped out of the truck, and looked around.By the bigger barn on the hill, a white truck and a red trailer were parked. My father and I walked up the hill.A short husky man named Josh approached us.He shook my Dads' hand, and then shook my hand.He had a strong grip, I could tell he worked with horses.
After introducing myself, and learning a bit about the stable the three of us walked down the stable aisle. Josh led a gorgus grey gelding named Magic out of his stall.
"Wow..." I whispered.
He led the horse to cross-ties and tied him there. Josh walked into the tack room, and came out with a hoof pick and a brush. He handed the tools to me, and said "Brush him down."
So I did just that; I brushed the horse revealing a shining glossy coat. Josh showed me how to clean his hooves, so I gave it a try. Afterward Josh tacked him up, showing me how to do it all step-by-step. I was soon ready to ride. Josh led Magic to a large fenced in meadow, where I was able to mount after Josh told me the essentials to controlling the horse.
I rode, and it felt as if I was flying...I beleive that was the greatest feeling I had ever had. Dad even rode a bit! I laughed and had a great time. When it finaly came time to leave, I did not want to go. But Dad promised that we would come back ever Sunday, and he's kept his promise since.
You can put this in the newsletter, I dont mind....It would actualy be an honor! xD But I hope you liked this little story, and you can enjoy and share it for as long as you want. :D
