"Come on, Squirrel, hurry up! He's missing and we might now be able to find him!" Meredith said.

She was desperate now. She always had a love for horses, and she wasn't about to give up on this one. Squirrel nickered, and he speeded up. Meredith was getting worried. What will happen to him? What if we don't get there in time? what if he starves? She really didn't want to let down Summer. She would hate it if Squirrel went missing. What will happen.
Meredith entered the darkwood forest. She was so scared that she slowed Squirrel down to a walk. A thick sheet of fog covered the trail. It smelled like dew and deer droppings. Meredith looked around, and looked under her. The trail was so muddy, Meredith could hardly see the foal's tracks.
"Meredith, I'm scared." Squirrel said. Meredith shivered.
"I am too, Squirrel," she said. She urged Squirrel into a trot and followed the muddy tracks.
an hour later, Meredith was deep into the forest. She heard movement in the bushes, and looked over there. It was the foal! Hiding!
"Squirrel, talk to him!" Meredith scream-whispered.
"Okay." Squirrel said. He walked towards the foal.
"Hey, foal. what are you doing here?" He asked.
"I'm looking for my mommy." The foal said. It looked like it was about to cry.
"Why would you look for your mommy here?" Squirrel asked, looking puzzled.
" Because she sent me a letter saying I should come here on this day. She's in a wild herd of horses." The foal said. He backed up a little.
"Well, your owner is looking for you." Squirrel said. "You should come with us."
"Okay. I'll write my mommy a letter later."
"Come on, follow me." Squirrel said. The foal slowly followed Squirrel through the dark forest and walked home happily.

"Thank you Meredith!" Summer said. She pet the foal's smooth neck. "That was truly the best adventure in Pony Pal history! You're a hero!" She hugged Meredith and Meredith did a victory smile, winking at Squirrel.
