The Horse Girl

By Snowy2351 & Starlit Snowflake

Age 12

The wild golden horse

With a coat so golden and bright

Charges around the paddock

With no fear in his might.

As the last rays of the sun shimmers

A person enters his territory.

He furiously charges at the intruder

But stops, surprised by the girl's braveness.

She gently stretches out her hand

And he sniffs it curiously.

She smells like a meadow full of grass, apple trees and flowers.

He rubs his nose against her, and she gives a soft giggle that sounds like the tiniest bell tinkling.

He stretches out his neck,

And nuzzles her gently,

Nickering as he does so.

She puts her arms around his neck,

Gives him a big hug,

And a goodbye-kiss on his forehead.

"Tomorrow, my dear friend, you will be alone again,"

Says the girl.

"But I promise I will come back another day, and you will see me again."

With those words said,

She walks out of the paddock.

Halfway to the gate, she stops, turns around and says:

"I hope you will remember me, my dear friend."
