Club Pony Pals News

Dear Pony Pals:

Our site is rolling out new features!

First, we suggest that PC users clear their computer's cache.  See the instructions here to learn how.

Good news for our Mac users: our sound effects now play for you on our site’s public “landing” page.

Then, after you log in, visit our  “Pals, Please Page

When you click on a member’s username & pony name, a pop up window of that member’s public home page displays. But in the background, the main page now stays open. You’ll also see that this page now has a “back” button that returns you to the page you came from.

Next, from your personal page, it’s now much easier to give the same gift to several pals at once.

Also, when you go to Crandal’s barn, you’ll see a new sign outside that turns yellow and a new pink sign on the bulletin board. Either will take you straight to our “Pals, Please Page

You'll probably notice our barn aisle’s new galvanized cans. They are a sign that quests are coming soon! They are not “live” just yet but will be in time for our next round of testing.

Finally, by member request, a new item you now can buy is an oil can that silences any noisy weathervanes that are squeaking away in your inventory or gifts pages.  You can send our new oilcan as a gift -- or buy one at Kline’s if none of your pals take a hint and send you one.

In other news, voting for coloring contest #4 has ended. Winners are

Under 10 category

runnerup saddleclubgal & Belle

Vote for September Story Contest, Coloring Contest #5 for your favorite artwork for, or download the art for coloring contest #6 here.

Read our petition to our very, very, very overdue avatar code writers. Add your comments, too.

Finally, members ask me all the time "how do I earn more bucks?" Anybody who wants a saddle or more Wiggins bucks is missing out if they don't enter one of our contests! Details are below. This week we need some cartoons, they should be in black and white.

Much larger new changes are coming soon. Our goal is simple: keep building the world’s best pony-themed site.

Pals,

Jane Crandal

Club Pony Pals Member Photos

A Lost Friend

Polfa in happier days

pumpkinxoxo riding Polfa

It is with great sorrow that we report the sudden death of a member's horse. Our membership may remember him from his photo earlier this year.

Last week, a 24 year old warmblood named "Polfa," was found dead in his stall by his owner, very possibly the victim of a fatal snake bite.   His owners had the pleasure of his company for almost ten years. His patient, cheery disposition was enjoyed by his human companions. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

As we know, in the world at large most people have little idea of how deep our bond exists between us, our ponies and horses.   Some of our members have created two different sympathy cards for times like this. Pony Pal pumpkinxoxo & Polfa might appreciate receiving a card from fellow Pony Pals.

We hope to create a Memorial Page where members can post images and comments about equine companions who have passed from our lives but not our hearts.   The Pony Pals, Pam, Anna and Lulu, suggest making a "memory book" to help ease the process of grieving for a deceased friend. In "Fourth Pony Pal," there is an account of how doing that helped their friend Shelly.

Pony Pal Thoughts for the Day

Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult.

Big words seldom accompany good deeds.

Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises.
