The Wild Horses in the Stars

The world I once knew swirled around me,
The sun shining once so brilliantly shone no more,
The grass to which I grazed days and days was no more,
I stared at the sweet little girl, who’s tears came and came.
I wanted to tell her, “Cry no more, it will be alright.”
But nothing was alright.
Every part of me became heavier by each second that felt like eternity.
I wanted to scream, “Don’t take me!”
But I couldn’t.
The girl hugged me one more time her tears falling on my cheeks.
“Goodbye,” she whispered. “Go run. with the wild horses in the stars.”
I trusted the girl,
And she trusted me,
I knew I lived my life long and well but now it was my time to go run,
With the wild horses in the stars.
I took my last shuddering breath and the girl disappeared,
The sky disappeared,
The ground disappeared,
And then everything went dark.
The wild horses in the stars ran all around me.
I was one of them now.
I felt like I was flying.
I felt free—but I would never forget the little girl.
The little girl that made my life wonderful.
But now I would forever be
One of the wild horses in the stars
The girl got up and whispered,
“He’s gone,” with tears spilling creating a river of tears,
She looked up at the night sky covered by millions of stars,
“Your there, I know, but I will never forget you,”
She closed her eyes and barely whispered,
“As you are one of the wild horses in the stars.”
