Jane stood by her new pony’s side saying, “what am I going to name you? What am I going to name you?” it was 3 days after the sale and Jane still did not have a name for her.
Later that morning when she, her mom, and her dad had breakfast her parents started making name suggestions. First there was Blackie then there was Black, then there was Shimmer, Prancer, and Wild Girl. The ideas just kept coming. By the end of breakfast all Jane could think of was all the names her parents had suggested.
When she went outside Jane noticed it colder than earlier. Shivering she zipped her jacket up, grabbed the newspaper and went down to the barn. Inside the barn Jane dropped the newspaper onto the feed bin and grabbed 2 flakes of Bermuda, she brought them into the corral and dumped them into a large black feed bucket. She carefully arranged them so that they gave her a soft mattress then she ran back into the barn and got a towel, the newspaper, a blanket and a pillow. She put the towel on top of the hay and jumped in, she put the pillow behind her, the blanket on top and started to read the newspaper. She was going to skip over the shops when a name caught her eye it read The Black Rose Flower Shop. “Black Rose is the perfect name!” Jane exclaimed.
