Pony for Sale

That afternoon I was riding my pony Hope on my grandma’s farm. My name is Lucy and I live with my grandma. My dad is working at England and my mum is an archeologist at Egypt. I have a pony named Hope and she is a chestnut pony. I lived in a little town called Pillard Junction. After sunset I rode my pony to the barn and I saw a sale sign for a pony in front of my house. It was shocking news because Hope was the only pony on the farm. I ran into the house and saw my grandma sitting near the fire place.
“Grandma! Are you selling Hope?” I said with a worried face.
“I am afraid it is true, it needs to be done.” My grandma was saying the cold hard words when she was looking straight into my dark brown eyes.
“Why? Why Hope?” I asked when drops of tears were running down my eye.
“Well, I don’t want to tell this to you too soon but we’re moving and we can’t take care of this farm and Hope anymore.” My grandma whispered calmly into my ears as she speaks.
“Where are we moving to?” I asked.
“We are moving to Canzace and you are starting a real school too.” Grandma said slowly while drinking a cup of tea. “Why do we have to move? It’s lovely down here!” I shouted without letting my grandma tell me the answer.
In Pillard Junction, there is no school so to learn we have to go to a little place called Willow’s learning sessions. She teaches you everything you have to know about math, English, art and science. Today is a school holiday and the reason we have to go there instead of going to a proper school is because the mayor of this town can’t afford to build a real school. I have lots and lots of friends in the Willow’s learning session. My best friends are Nina, Patricia and May. They got ponies too. When I called them and told them the news, they said they will come right over to my house and they did.
“No, Lucy please don’t move to Canzace.” May begged but I know that my grandma is not going to change her mind at all.
“Why do you have to move? Why can’t you stay at Pillard Junction?” Patricia asked.
“Well, I actually didn’t ask her that part yet but I will and I am really sorry.” I said with a sad face.
Next morning my friends and I went to Ms Lesley’s house to see Star. Star is Missy’s foal. She is just one week old and the cutest thing ever. She has a chestnut coat with a long golden mane. I quickly thought about Hope. Ms Lesley gave me Hope when I was little but now grandma is selling Hope. I figured out why grandma wouldn’t change her mind but then I have an idea because Ms Lesley was very rich she could afford the money to take care of the farm and Hope so I asked her and she said she would love to help. So I went back to my house and asked my grandma.
“What is the real reason we’re moving?” I asked even though I know.
“We don’t have enough money.” answered my grandma.
“Well Ms Lesley can help us with the money! I already asked and she said yes.” I said with a bit of hope in my mind.
“Alright then we can” so then Ms Lesley gave us the money and grandma didn’t have to sell the farm or Hope. I guess that’s why Ms Lesley gave her that name. She’s the one who always gave me hope and I will never let her down.
