Girl and Horse

Girl and horse, together as one,
flesh and hide, melding together.
Those who've seen them could not tell,
woman or horse? none could see.
For so closely bonded, in movement and in
heart, they seamed as one being.
Flowing mane, flying tail, hair whipping in the breeze,
brown met red, red met black, all glimmering in the sunlight as they galloped in the distance.
This is where that ancient saying,
that ancient proverb which states that the wind of heaven is that which blows through a horses ears,
this is where that saying came from.
The pricked ears, the joyous smile,
both of them being so completely caught up in the other,
this is what they talk about.
It is an peaceful, graceful, beautiful thing, even
just for the witness.
But for the two to whom it belongs,
there are only two words to describe it...
and those words are home, and heaven.
Those words, those two precious words,
which might as well be one.
And those who say that horses
will not be in heaven,
it is them who have never experienced
this joyous feat, to be one with another
living, breathing creature.
And it is them I feel sorry for.
For if there was ever such a thing as a heaven without
a creature like this,
a nearly perfect beast as this horse,
lets just say that it would be no heaven at all.
