Race Day

We charge out of the gate
The earth trembles as her hooves fly across it
The wind plays with her mane
Her eyes are blank against the endless track
The roar of the crowd is drowned out by adrenaline
Our senses go numb until we reach the finish line
My smile grows a mile wide
She gets blanketed with roses
And I guard our trophy
All our hard work
Has paid off
