~The Close Call~

Age: 12I start to trot down the rocky dirt road. There are lots of pals riding in front, or behind me including Gunprize,Sweetcandy663, #1horseluver14759
and Ilovejustin. We are all riding along a dusty, rocky, dry dirt road for our trail ride. We are having a blast, I am galloping beside ilovejustin, we are racing. She got a head start but I catch up quickly. She sees me and pushes Justin faster, seeing this I push Midnight Beauty faster not having to do much because she gets excited quickly. I yell out first to that sign wins! Okay says ilovejustin. But right before we get to the finish line a car zooms past spooking both of our horses. Mb(midnight beauty) rears and Justin(ilovejustin’s horse) bucks and turns around to bite mb in the hindquarters. Being bitten mb freaks out and bolts taking me by surprise. I can feel her slowing down, but then another car zooms past freaking her out even more. I tighten my reins and turn her tightly in circles, over and over. By now the rest of the gang are scared for me, and can do nothing but watch. Beauty calms a moment then… she hears and sees a helicopter over head(she was saved from slaughter house) and decides to canter across street, a motorcycle is coming very fast and with out me knowing she starts to go across the street. The motorcycle is now about a second away. I close my eyes in fear but then open them again after realizing it would have a worse outcome if they were closed. The motorcycle driver slows down a little and yells “watch out!” but in my mind I know it is too late. Luckily mb goes into a gallop instead of a canter and nearly dodges the vehicle. The group are all happy we are okay, and decide to head back to the barn.The End
