Brenna and Pepper: Part 2 Paralyzed Heart part 1

Chapter 1

Brenna sat up in bed. “Mom, Dad,” She got dizzy, and leaned back onto her pillow. Her parents came in. “Brenna, whats wrong?” Her Dad asked.
“I-I feel dizzy.” Brenna closed her eyes and fell asleep.

“Brenna, wake up honey.” Her Mom stroked her long hair. “Mo- Mom? Where am I?” Brenna said, waking up. “No place but home.” Her mom sat her up in bed and checked her temperature.
“Well, you do have a fever.” Her Mom layed her back down on her pillow and left the room.
“John, call the doctor.” Her Mom handed her Dad the phone.
“Jenn, She has a fever. Not the flu or any thing else that could harm her.” Brenna hearing what her father had just said, tried to get up. She fell on the floor, not being able to move her legs.
“Brenna, was that you?” Her Dad came into the room, seeing Brenna laying on the floor.
“Dad, I can't move my legs.” She tried to pull herself up, but failed, falling back down.
“Call the doctor, Jenn!” Her Dad yelled.
“Now your telling ME?” Her Mom picked up the phone and dialed the doctors number.

Chapter 2
Fractured

“I can't see whats wrong with her, And I don't know what it could be, either.” The doctor said.
“Well, cant you take an x-ray?” Brenna said, moaning after her words.
“I will try.” The doctor pulled up a wheel chair and sat Brenna in it.

“Just stay right where you are.” The Doctor told Brenna.
“Fine,” Brenna crossed her arms.
“Mom, Dad, Call Kayla.” Her parents looked at each other after Brenna told them this.
“But-” Brenna cut them off.
“Call. Kayla.” And call Kayla they did.

“I came as soon as I could. What is wrong?!” Kayla sat down and glared at Brenna.
“I don't know, Neither does Mr. “I wont take her x-ray” guy over there.” Brenna rolled her eyes at the doctor.
“Sigh...” The doctor came over and told her what was wrong.
“I already did take the x-ray.” He  waved his hand for Brenna's parents to come over. “Her legs are fractured,” He pulled up a picture of Brenna's leg, and then the other.
“But how?” Her Mom took the pictures and studied them carefully.
“Has she been doing anything that involves her legs?” The doctor took the picture back.
“Eh, walking?” Kayla looked at Brenna and made a “Weirdo” sign.
“Kayla is right. She has not-” Brenna stopped her mother from finishing. “Riding.” She held Kayla's hand, waiting for the doctor to reply.
“Have you fallen off lately?” He kept looking at Kayla and Brenna's parents.
“Im sorry, You can't ride any more.” He took the papers back into the other room and left them to talk.

“What?!” Brenna and Kayla both screamed. “But it cant be!” Brenna tried once again to stand up, but could not. “I need the parents in here please.” The doctor called out. Brenna's parents walked into the room with the doctor.

Chapter 3
Paralyzed heart

“She is not doing well.” The doctor said. He took out a different picture. “Ma'am, Sir, She is paralyzed.” Her parents both broke out in tears. “But, if she takes this medicine she may get better. I doubt it, though. Im so terribly sorry.”

Brenna, Kayla, and her parents pulled into the driveway of their house. “Mom, Dad, what did he say?” Brenna un-buckled her seated belt and Kayla helped her out of the truck.
“Girls, go into the house.” Her mom, Jenn, turned and held her fathers hand. “How do we tell her, John? She is going to be heartbroken.” Jenn clasped his hand, and looked up at him. “That is a good question.” John replied.
“Dear, that isn't helping.” Jenn quickly started thinking, But her mind was blocked.
“Lets go.” They both went into the house to join the girls.

“Kayla, Brenna, sit down please.” Jenn and John sat on the big couch, and the girls sat down on the littler one.
“Yeah?” Kayla squeezed Brenna's hand and Jenn and John both wiped of tears.
“Brenna, You're paralyzed.” Jenn shot out the words, But quickly wished she could take them back in.
“The doctor said that if you take this medicine you have a chance to get better, But it going to need a miracle.” Both girls hugged each other and started wishing Pepper was still here.
“So, I can't ride?” Brenna looked at her parents with a look that reminded them of Johnny before he went off to war. Her Mom shook her head.
“Brenna I am so sorry.” Brenna, If she wanted to hide her tears, would usually run to her room. She tried, But fell down crying. Kayla squatted down and hugged her friend tightly. That night the two girls went to bed in silence.
“Do you think they are right?” Kayla tried to ask Kayla. She got a reply with Brenna snoring so with that Kayla went to sleep.

Chapter 4
Surprise!

2 weeks had passed and Brenna was still paralyzed, and there was no sign for getting better. “Mom, Do you think I will ever be able to ride again?”
