SnowFire part 2 part 1
By: Warhorse
Age: 11
As I looked into the young colt’s eyes I remembered my dream. He was the foal.
“What’s up Lil?” That was my best friend Clare.
“That foal. I have seen him before.” I said sill in a trance as I looked deeper into the foal’s eyes.
“What fo...Wow look at him!”
“I am.” Claire went to take her camera out of her bag and I turn to help her but Clue ran towards the colt. The colt got freaked and ran straight towards me! I couldn’t move as the foal gallop at an amazing speed towards me. I closed my eyes and when I open them the foal was right under my nose. He had not been running at me he had been running to me. I patted the foal on his silky soft coat which was covered with bits of mud and some flowers from a bush. I went into the stable to find a brush to groom the colt but when I turned around the foal was there! He had been following me and so he would till I got a halter on him-him trusting me- and tied him in a stall. Claire came rushing to me with a camera her dad had left her.
“I was going to take a picture of the colt but it’s gone.” I told her how he had followed me and how he seemed to trust me even if he barely knows me. I also told her about the dream I had and how he looks just like the foal.
“I called him SnowFire.”
“That’s a very beautiful name for an adorable colt.” I thought over it.
“It is a very nice name isn’t it. We’ll call him SnowFire.”
Chapter Five
SnowFire is now 2 years old and Autumn is 3 and me and Claire have train them both beautifully. Autumn is a good racer and great at barrels. SnowFire is great at, well, anything he is the fastest horse I have ever seen and he can jump like 5 feet! We trained him a bit early but he turned out right. Claire now rides Autumn because Starburst went into a meltdown and went to live with some people who can help him for a few years but Claire likes Autumn too so it was all good. I ride SnowFire now but not too much though, when I not riding him I’m drawing him. I soon learned that SnowFire was a purebred paint horse. But he was wild so is very rare to find a purebred in the wild. My mom got an ex-racehorse and now she rides with me on her. Her name is Seashore Sally. She is an Anglo- Arabian mare she is 15 years old and she has a bond with SnowFire like a bond between a mother and son. My father called and said that he was moving to Virginia with his new wife Carly Mason for he took her last name. I didn’t mind I loved my dad and I knew that marriage was important and sometimes it more than 1 try to get it right. To take my mind off of it for fear of thinking badly of my dad I started taking French. I really did like it I had a nice teacher at my school and I read lots of books on the history and the language. I can say: Hi, my name is Lilly Gold and I love horses è Bonjour, mon nom est Gold de Lilly et j'adore les chevaux and lots of other things to. So with my extra work I do my mom is going to hire a trainer to train me for a show that they have in a few weeks. I’ll be riding Autumn for she is much better at barrels than SnowFire and she is old enough.

“Keep you seat steady as you turn around this barrel and remember not to lean, keep your shelf straight the horse will lean not you.” Shouted my teacher Mr. Tim. He was great, funny and he knew his horses. Me and Autumn swung around the barrel kicking up a storm and then raced back to Tim.
“How was that?” I asked out of breath.
“Beautiful.” I smiled. “Take Autumn back to her stall and give her a good grooming then tack up Claw ok.”
“Ok” Claw was Mr. Tim’s gelding. He was great at everything western. I took Claw from the trying pole and led him in and came out with him all tacked up.
“Great now hop up and jog him round.” I did what Tim told me and we continued our lesson.
Chapter Six
After I had finished lessons and Mr. Tim went back home I took a really long hot bath. Soothing all my aching muscles and bones. After 2 hours in the tub I hoped out and wrapped a towel round me. I blow dried my hair and it went fizzy. I didn’t really care because I just put it in a bun anyway. Me and Clue went downstairs after both being groom and dressed in PJs. Tonight for dinner it was Mac & cheese. When I went to sleep that night I had I dream of running with SnowFire the wind blowing through my hair. Most of my dreams have been coming true lately. First there was SnowFire standing there looking at me and then he appears from the forest. Then I had a dream where Clue was in the circus and he did lots of funny tricks and talked! Next day he began standing up on his hind legs spinning round and round and then barked at me for no reason. I hope my dream does come true. I want to run across the oceans and lands with SnowFire all year long. Next day my mom left me a note that said:
Dear Lilly,
Went out to buy more carrots and apples for SnowFire. There is some oatmeal in the microwave, please do not feed to the horses ok! Bye for now see you at 3.
Love mom. J
Reading the note I ran to the microwave being so hungry. I didn’t mind when my mom left me at home. She did it alot so I was used to it. I called for Clue and laid down a bowl of food for him. He came running down the stairs after a good nap and ate his food as I ate my oatmeal. After we ate our breakfast I race to my room and grabbed my laptop. I ran back down the stairs and grabbed Clue’s leash and clipped it on to his collar. I walked him down to the stable and sat myself down. Opening my laptop I went to a site that was all about horses. Reading about how to train a horse to jump Clue ran to Autumn. Autumn loved to watch Clue ran around and would even let him sit on her back. I closed my laptop and saddled SnowFire & Autumn. Autumn had a special saddle to hold Clue inside! I had to train Clue to ride her. He could walk and trot. He could turn her left and right and slow her down and speed her up with a bark. I hopped up on SnowFire and Clue jump into his saddle and we went onto the mountain trail. This trail was my favorite. It had so many trees and ponds. We stopped at the biggest pond called Waka lake and had a dip. Clue loved swimming. He dived into the cool water and put out his long tail like a ruttier. I put my green nail polished toes into the water feeling the sand under my toes. Clue jumped out of the water and hopped back into the saddle. I pull my boots back on and got back in the saddle to.

Back at the house I had untacked and groomed both horses. I walked inside the house and looked at the clock.
“5:00” I knew my mom could be late but this was ridiculous.
“She’s never this late. Clue. Fetch the phone.” Clue ran out of the room and I heard a thud. Clue returned with my cell phone in his mouth.
“Good boy.” I said patting him. I dialed my mom cell and waited as I heard the soft rings.
“Please pick up. Please pick up!” Nothing. “Urgg.” I looked at Clue.
“Clue.” He turned to face me. “Fetch me a soda please.” Clue left once again and return with ginger ale logged in his mouth.
“No get me a coke.” Clue left and placed the ginger ale back in the fridge and picked out a coke.
“Thank you.” Clue sat down a give me the coke and followed me into my room.
“Ok boy. Run back down stairs and bark if my mom comes back ok?” Clue barked and trotted down the stairs and waited. I tried my mom’s phone again and still nothing.
“Where could she be?” I heard an earsplitting bark and I ran downstairs. But it was Claire. Opening the door I said.
“Hey Claire!”
“Hey Lil! Want to go for a ride?”
“Sure! Can we go on the trail to town I need to see my mom?”
“Ok” We walked to the barn and Clue followed.
“Can I ride Sally?” Claire asked as she picked up the halter with Sally’s name on it.
“Sure! That would be great.” We tacked up Sally, SnowFire and Autumn for Clue. I took the lead as we when down the narrow path. We talked a little but were interrupted by a scream for help! I kicked SnowFire into a fast gallop followed by Claire and Clue.
“Don’t worry!” I shouted into the cold air.
“Lilly is that you! I need you! Please help!”
“Mom!” I kicked SnowFire harder and we raced to a cliff. I found my mom hanging by the ledge with her car no where to be seen. We slided to a halt as I jumped off.
“Mom!” I grabbed her arms and tried to pull her back up. But it was no use….
