Katie Baker- A 12 year old girl with red hair and green eyes. She is
Jessie's best friend.

Oreo- A black and white pinto. A very sturdy and strong mare.

Pandora- A blue roan. Very nimble and fast mare.

Daisy- A brown and white cow.

Splotch- A black and white cow.

The Stallion- A tall, muscular horse with a buckskin coat. Is a very fast,
strong, and smart stallion.

It has been 2 months since my father caught the stallion. I worked very hard
to train him for riding. We would be working with the lunge for an hour or
so. Me and The Stallion had formed a strong bond. I was out in the paddock,
picking flowers as The Stallion tried to eat them. I have been in that big
paddock for over 2 hours, when I got hungry. I sat down and opened my leather
bag. I put the flowers I picked into a book and got out 2 bags, a jar of
peanut butter, and a water bottle. I opened one of the bags and dumped out
the oats. He munched happily on them as I ate my peanut butter sandwich. Then
I saw this beautiful blue flower and went to pick it. The Stallion decided to
eat some peanut butter from the open jar. When I came back, the jar was
empty.
"Hey!"
He looked at me and snorted. I looked more carefully at him and thought for a
moment. That’s when I knew the perfect name for him.
"Peanut Butter."
He looked up at me.
"That's your new name. Good boy."
I stroked his mane, picked up my bag, and took him to his stall.

I went over to Katie's house after I took a shower. We watched her horse,
Miss Longstockings, being trained for her jumping show. Then I told Katie
what I named The Stallion.
"Peanut Butter? Does he have a nickname?"
I thought for a moment.
""Yea. His nickname is Peanut."
That's the best name ever!!"
Katie had started to dance around at this point.
"Do you need help to break him in?"
"Sure. My dad could use some help with keeping Peanut still."
"Okay. I’ll ask my mom if I can."
Katie asked her mom and went to my house.

"Steady. Jessie, be sure that you can jump away if he decides to kick."
I was leaning over Peanut's back.
"Okay."
Then I sat up and gripped his mane.
"Ready?"
Katie's voice had fear in it.
"Don't be afraid for me. Peanut will do great."
"Okay. If you say so."
She and my dad walked Peanut up and down the aisle of the barn. I got off and
gave Peanut 2 carrots and a kiss on the nose.
"Good boy. You did perfect."
I then let him out into Oreo and Pandora's paddock. They played tag and it
was so cute. Then I invited Katie over for dinner.

"Mrs.Campbell, this corn is delicious!!"
Katie loved my mom's cooking.
"Why thank you Katie."
Katie nodded then went back to eating her corn.
"Have you thought of entering Peanut in a show yet, Jessie?"
"No I haven’t, Mom."
"If you would like to, then just come ask me or your father for the
entrance fee."
"Sure thing."
I tried to hide the excitement. I was going through the list of things I
would need for the show.

I went into town the next day with the $100 fee and all my allowance. I
bought a lot of stuff for the show and then went to the show sign-ups. I
passed by a board that had posters with the pictures of stallions on it. It
was a breeding advertisement. I decided to make a poster for Peanut. I sign us
up for the show and paid the $100 fee. I went home and started to work on
that poster.

My dad helped with the poster. Katie came over and helped train Peanut for
the show. It took 5 weeks to train. Then it was time for the show. I groomed
and bathed Peanut until his coat shined. I cleaned his red tack until it
shined too. I put up the breeding poster and then went to the show. I tacked
up Peanut and mounted. We waited for a bit, then they called out my name.
"Good luck!"
Katie whispered. Then I rode Peanut out into the ring. A little bit later we
came back and I untacked and cooled Peanut down.

2 hours later they started to call out winners in my class.
"In fourth place, Ellie and her horse Max!"
People clapped as she rode up and took the ribbon.
"In third place, Andrea and her horse Sassy!"
People clapped even more as she rode up and took her ribbon.
"In second place, Chelsea and her horse Frosty!"
People clapped and a few whistled as she rode up and took her ribbon. I
crossed my fingers and hoped to win.
"In first place, Jessie and her horse Peanut Butter!"
There was a roar of people whistling and clapping. I rode up there and got
the blue ribbon. I clipped it to Peanut's halter and we posed for
pictures. When we got home, our phone was ringing like crazy with requests
for Peanut to breed with mares. I untack Peanut and let him into the paddock
to relax with Oreo and Pandora. He certainly earned it.
