Chocolate Dreams
By: Shinabella

Age: 11

The sweet smell of caramel was filling my nose. Not just any caramel, the caramel you smell in professional coffee shops, And in a  chocolate shop. Well, you guessed it. We owned one. Chocolate was the love of my parents. When I was just 2 years old, I started to memorize the recipe for Chocolate when I made it with my mom. I Just asked a simple question one day, “Can we open a Chocolate shop?” My parents talked for about an hour, and came to me. “Yes!” They scooped me up in their arms and hugged me tight. Now I was 12, and I could care less about Chocolate. I wanted a horse, just a horse. But that was coming to an end because my parents were killing my thought. I don't think they knew how much I hated it know.

“Mom, Dad,” I said. “We have a stable at the house, and we have a pasture. But why don't we have a-” They cut me off.
“We are not getting a horse and that is FINAL!” My Dad shook his head and followed my Mom into the back room, also called the- I'm not even sure what it’s called after 10 years of living here. A costumer came in, but it was not just any costumer, it was my best friends, Anna, Lulu, And Pam.
“Shina! Come on!” They yelled. The next thing I knew I was being dragged out of the shop.
“What in the world?! Where are we going?!” I said. I tried to get away but they just kept dragging me. About 10 minutes we were walking, and we finally stopped.
“Look, Right there.” Anna said. She pointed to a  red roan pony, tied up with a halter and ropes tied around him.
“How cruel!” Pam said. She started to run after the pony, but we all held her back.
“Let me help her!” Pam screamed.
“Pam, grow up. We can’t just go untying  a pony that we don't even know!” Anna yelled. Lulu and me looked at each other.
“GAHH!” Pam yelled, running towards the pony. “Easy!!” She said. She started digging in her pocket. “Ha! Found it.” She pulled out a little buck knife and calmed the pony down. I started inspecting the pony, and saw something unusual.
“Pam, wait.” I said. She stopped, and looked at me.
“What?” She said. “Just stay where you are.” I walked over to the pony, and realized, It was not a pony OR a roan. It was a bay stallion, probably just about 17 hands up.
“Ugh just let me help this poor pony!” she said.
“Pam, Don't!”
Suddenly, The stallion lit up, and then started rearing. “Whoa.” Is all Pam said.
“Pam, Get over here!!!” Us girls yelled.
She just stood there,  eye and eye with the stallion.
“Help.” Pam said. Just a low toned voice, Help. I ran to get her, but Anna held me back.
“Let her come back herself, Shina.” She said. “Pam, Come. Here. NOW.”
Anna stomped her foot, and Pam just ran. The stallion suddenly broke free of the ropes. “Why couldn't he do that when he was still tied up?!” Pam screamed. Well, It was not just Pam that screamed, Let me tell you that. It was all of us. Me, Anna, Lulu, And Pam were running and screaming back to the shop.

“Good Gosh what in the world is happening here?!?!” My mother screamed. Literally, SCREAMED. We ran into the shop, ignoring the fact that like 5000 customers  were staring at us. We skidded to a stop, and my DAD ran in. He was furious. His face was as red as an apple, and I actually think I saw steam coming out of his ears.
“What are you DOING?!” He yelled. Yeah, I saw steam. Except he was madder than Mom. He let out a loud “Sigh...” And slapped his forehead.
“Uh oh.” Us girls said. Lulu bowed out of the bloom.
“Lulu, what the heck was that?” Anna said, slapping her arm.
“Ow! I don't know! I though it would help!” Lulu replied. “Yeah, well, get a grip.” Anna said, slapping her arm again. A few of the customers let, a few of them just sat at their tables, and a few just stared at each other.
“Shina, you and your friends go home. Now.” Dad turned and went into the other room.
The girls and me caught a bus and went home. Actually, We went to Pam's barn.
“Girls, What brings you here? You can't ride, its Chore Day.” Jane, The owner of the barn and Pam's Mother, Quickly swept the tack room out.
“I know, Mother. We just came to get our stuff.” Pam said. We got our school stuff, for we left them there before going to the shop. “Bye, mom! See you in a few hours.” Pam said. We ran to the house and got our school stuff out.
“Why do your parents have to be so... oh.. MEAN???” Anna said.
“I don't know. I wish I had never asked if we could open a  shop when I was 2. Biggest mistake of my life.” I replied.
“Shina, Hurry, Look at your Paper!!!” Pam yelled. I looked down at my paper, and it was glowing.
“What the-” I started. “Stay calm,” The paper said. “I need your help.” Suddenly, I saw a huge horse on the paper. But not just one, but 4 huge horses. They had their names under them. Karm, Caeda, Corad, And Zadix. “Who are you?!” I asked. I saw the horse name Zadix pop up.
“Whoa, Shina, That looks like the horse we saw in the woods.” Pam said, pointing at the picture of Zadix.
“Pam, DUH!” I said. “Calm down. I am the one who has come for you. Call me Zadix, for I have come to lay a quest on your shoulders.”

Find out what happens next in “Chocolate Dreams”. What quest has been placed on the Girls shoulders, and what will happen! Enjoy!
